Czechoslovak Group is the general partner of the Future Forces Forum and will present the most modern military vehicles and electronic systems

14-10-2024

At the Future Forces Forum 2024 (FFF), companies from the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) will present their latest products and services for armies and security forces in a joint exhibition. Visitors will thus be able to see their projects intended for customers in the Czech Republic, including the Army of the Czech Republic, or abroad both within NATO and EU countries, as well as in other territories. In addition, the CSG has been a general partner of the Future Forces Forum since July of this year.

Tatra will present its entire portfolio of medium and heavy logistics vehicles. The main attraction will be the Tatra Force military logistics vehicle of the latest third generation in a flatbed version on a 6x6 chassis. The Tatra novelty has a completely new cabin with a number of above-standard safety features, an improved interior or a digitized dashboard and modern electronics. The cabin is available in two- and four-door versions and it has a redesigned skeleton with modern design elements that bring increased crew safety.

The two- and four-door versions of the cabin will be variable and allow the installation of air-cooled Tatra V8 and V12 engines as well as liquid-cooled Cummins and Caterpillar power units. Armoured two- and four-door cabs will also be available. The chassis is fitted with interchangeable elements for attaching and folding the cabin, all to be able to replace the standard cab quickly and easily with an armoured one even in field conditions. In addition, Tatra will also exhibit the second-generation Tatra Force 8x8 military heavy logistics vehicle, which is a proven platform serving in the Czech army and a number of other armed forces.

The Tatra Defense Vehicle (TDV) company will bring the TITUS 6x6 armoured vehicle in the version of an armoured personnel carrier to the exhibition. The modern TITUS vehicle, built on the Tatra chassis, is in service with the Czech army in three special versions, which TDV company developed together with other Czech companies according to the requirements of the army specialists. These are the communication (KOVS), command and staff (KOVVŠ) and fire support coordination post (MKPP) versions, while the Czech army took over the last ordered examples into its arsenal a few weeks ago. The TITUS project is the result of cooperation between TDV, where most structural units are produced and vehicles are completed for the Czech army, as well as the automotive company Tatra Trucks, which supplies chassis and some parts of the drive system, and the French manufacturer of special military equipment Nexter Systems, which supplies vehicles to customers worldwide. TITUS is proof that the Czech arms industry belongs to the world's top and that it can cooperate with partners from NATO countries even in the most technologically demanding areas. In cooperation with the Dajbych 4X4 company, TDV will also exhibit a military ambulance on the proven Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series chassis.

The big attraction of the stand of the CSG will be the Morana self-propelled howitzer produced by the Excalibur Army. This modern artillery system of a new conception on the Tatra 8x8 chassis has a 155 mm gun with a barrel length of 52 calibres installed in an armoured revolving turret. It is a fully automated artillery system compatible with NATO standards. The Morana howitzer is intended for quick and effective support of operational-tactical forces by direct and indirect fire in various climatic and weather conditions, day and night. Its task is the destruction of manpower, weapons and combat equipment, command posts and other targets at the operational-tactical level, the destruction of communication systems and logistics elements and the elimination of defense structures and field defense objects. The howitzer has a modular construction, which means that the turret superstructure with the weapon and the loading system can be installed on different chassis.

In a world premiere, the Excalibur Army will present an observation and patrol system named Hector on a Toyota Land Cruiser series 70 chassis. Its main part is the Guardian 1.5 remote-controlled observation and weapon station, which is equipped with long-range optoelectronic sensors and a 12.7 mm M2 heavy machine gun. Another prominent exhibit will be the Patriot 4x4 armoured vehicle with high ballistic and anti-mine resistance. Thanks to its versatility and modularity, the Patriot 4x4 is suitable for combat deployment, patrol missions or reconnaissance. It represents a suitable platform for command, liaison, communication, anti-chemical, engineering or medical vehicles or as a carrier of weapon systems. However, it will also be used by security forces and civilian units, such as the police, firefighters, rescuers, security services and others. The vehicle uses a Tatra chassis with a central backbone tube, swinging independently suspended half-axles and all-wheel drive, the air-cooled Tatra V8 engine serves as the drive unit.

Retia is part of the CSG Aerospace division and is one of the most important hi-tech technology companies in the Czech Republic in the field of radar and electronic systems. Retia will present the multi-purpose 3D pulse-Doppler radar ReGuard, which is designed for the detection and simultaneous tracking of ground targets and slow low-flying objects with a small radar cross section. The radar enables simultaneous tracking of land and air targets and is suitable, for example, for the protection of point post or important infrastructure. It is thus well used in anti-drone systems, e.g. when guarding airports, but also in air defense systems. Retia will introduce the ReGuard radar as part of the anti-drone system together with an effector called ReGun.

In addition to the ReGuard radar, Retia will also exhibit the light and portable ReTwis 5+ radar. It can find and track living people and animals that are behind a wall or other non-metallic obstacle, based on the detection of impulses caused by even the slightest human or animal movement. Thanks to its features and capabilities, ReTwis 5+ ranks at the top of its class, which is evidenced by the fact that it has won orders from security forces in the Czech Republic, the USA and other countries.

Another exhibitor at the joint CSG stand will be the MSM Group, which includes manufacturers of modern medium-calibre and large-calibre ammunition. The Slovak company VOP Nováky will show 155 mm NATO standard artillery ammunition, 155 mm training ammunition as well as 120 mm mortar ammunition. The Fábrica de Municiones Granada, which also belongs to the MSM Group, will display various types of NATO 120mm tank ammunition as well as 60mm artillery mortar ammunition.

Karbox and Tatra Defense Systems (TDS) companies will present the Marrel hook loader and the new type of transport platform on the Tatra Force 8x8 chassis, which has successfully passed military tests, as well as a wide range of Czech Camouflage Systems products for vehicles. The company Czechoslovak Export, which is an integrator of complex projects of CSG companies and also represents them commercially in many regions around the world, will introduce its services and projects to visitors at the stand. Czechoslovak Export focuses mainly on large international projects, the supply of complex turnkey solutions, the provision of logistics and the financing of projects in the field of defense and civil industry.
